Missing Google Fonts
In some instances we’ve discovered Loft themes where the Google Fonts are not rendered consistently due to a missing snippet. If you’ve encountered issues with Google fonts not displaying correctly, we’ll walk you through a common fix.
- Access your themes section
- Open the Loft theme code
- Create a new snippet
- Copy the google fonts code
1. Access your themes section
Login to your Shopify admin, and then click “Online Store” (on the left side of the admin). This takes you to the “themes” area of your Shopify store.

2. Open the Loft theme code
Next, click the button that says “Actions” - followed by “Edit code” which will load the live code editor. It consists of a left hand sidebar, which lists all the files on Loft, along with a right hand code editing panel.

3. Create a new snippet
On the left sidebar, scroll down to the folder called “Snippets” - click to open it. Next, click “Add a new snippet”. A dialogue box will appear - once it does, type in “google-fonts.liquid”

4. Copy the google fonts code
Copy the content of this file into the new snippet. Your editor should now look like the screenshot below. If it does, hit save and close out of the editor. You’re good to go!
